Our Standards & Quality Commitment
Every number we publish is deterministic, traceable, and independently verifiable. Here's how we ensure that.
Our Priority Hierarchy
Every decision we make follows this order. A cost-effective solution that compromises safety or compliance is never recommended.
Deterministic Calculations
Same inputs always produce the same outputs. Our tools use transparent, published formulas — not AI-generated opinions. Every formula is visible and verifiable.
Full Audit Trail
Every number in a report traces back to a specific calculation, input value, and data source. Our tool chain passes data through structured exports — nothing is manually typed into reports.
Standards-Referenced
All calculations reference published standards — CIBSE, SEAI, IS 10101, TGD Part L, CRREM — with specific clauses and versions cited. You can verify our sources.
Honest Reporting
We don't overstate savings or suppress unfavourable results. Budget estimates are stated as ±20%. Indicative outputs are labelled as such. Sensitivity analysis includes worst-case scenarios.
Standards We Design To
All AIMEP outputs are designed, calculated, and presented in accordance with Irish and EU standards.
| Domain | Standard |

| Electrical Installations | IS 10101:2020 & BS 7671 |
| Fire Detection & Emergency Lighting | IS 3218, IS 3217, BS 5266 |
| Building Energy Performance | TGD Part L (2021), TGD Part F |
| Nearly Zero Energy Buildings | NZEB / SEAI Methodology |
| Refrigerant & F-Gas Compliance | EU 2024/573 |
| EV Charging Infrastructure | SI 393/2021 |
| Load Assessment & Benchmarks | CIBSE Guides A, G, M, TM46 |
| Carbon Risk Pathways | CRREM 1.5°C (2025–2050) |

| Cost Benchmarking | SCSI / BCIS Elemental Rates |
How We Use AI — Transparently
We use Anthropic's Claude as a development and productivity tool. We're open about this because we believe it's a strength, not a liability. Our AI-augmented workflow enables more thorough testing, more rigorous cross-checking, and more consistent quality than manual methods alone.
The critical boundary: when you click "Calculate" in our tools, the result comes from a fixed algorithm running against published benchmark data — not an AI model. The output is deterministic and reproducible.
| Technology Handles | Our Engineers Handle |
|---|---|
| Executing deterministic formulas | Selecting appropriate inputs and assumptions |
| Formatting outputs into professional reports | Verifying outputs against engineering judgment |
| Flagging validation failures automatically | Deciding whether to accept, investigate, or override |
| Generating educational explanations | Ensuring technical accuracy of all content |
| Running quality assurance checks | Reviewing and signing every client deliverable |
Every report is reviewed and signed by a Chartered Engineer with Professional Indemnity Insurance. AI assists — it does not replace professional judgment.
What We State vs What We Don't Claim
We believe honesty about limitations builds more trust than overpromising. Here's exactly where our assessments stand:
| What We State | What We Don't Claim |
|---|---|
| Desktop assessment based on available data | Substitute for site inspection |
| Cost estimates ±15% to ±40% depending on data | Tender-accurate pricing |
| Indicative BER/Part L check (simplified method) | Formal SBEM/DSM compliance certification |
| CIBSE Guide M design life benchmarks | Actual condition of specific equipment |
| Published ESB connection categories & timelines | Guaranteed ESB network capacity at your location |
| CRREM-aligned carbon pathways | Certified carbon accounting or offsetting |
Quality Assurance
Every tool undergoes automated testing before deployment. Every report undergoes numerical audit and peer review before issue. Specifically:
Automated testing: Pre-defined test scenarios (we call them "golden tests") run against every tool. If any test fails, the tool cannot be deployed.
Physical plausibility: Our tools include built-in checks — CO2 emissions can't fall below physical limits, energy costs must reflect real market rates, BER ratings must be consistent with energy use.
Peer review: Before any report reaches a client, every key number is cross-checked against the calculation that produced it. We check data sources, assumptions, limitations, and professional disclaimers.
Professional & Ethical Standards
All work is carried out in accordance with the Engineers Ireland Code of Ethics and CIBSE Code of Professional Conduct. We maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance covering all AIMEP service lines.
Independence: We provide independent MEP consulting. We don't sell equipment, receive commissions from suppliers, or recommend solutions that benefit us financially beyond our professional fee.
Scope: We only accept work within our competence. Our tools are for preliminary design and assessment — we refer clients to specialist consultants (structural, fire, acoustic, planning) where required, and we clearly state what our assessments do and do not cover.
Conflict of interest: If we have a commercial interest in the outcome of an assessment (e.g., potential appointment for detailed design on the same project), we disclose this upfront. The assessment methodology does not change — same tools, same benchmarks, same standards.
Data Privacy
Our engineering tools run client-side in your browser. No project data is transmitted to our servers during calculations. JSON exports are saved locally on your device. Our free tools contain no analytics, no cookies, and no tracking.
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as enacted under the Data Protection Acts 2018. Project files are retained for 7 years in line with professional indemnity requirements, after which they are securely deleted.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting [email protected].

Our Commitment to You
- Every number in your report traces to a verified calculation
- All data sources are cited — you can check our references
- Assumptions are stated explicitly — nothing is hidden
- Limitations are honest — we tell you what we don't know
- Indicative outputs are clearly labelled — we don't overstate certainty
- Savings are calculated properly — sequential, not additive
- Worst-case scenarios are included — we don't just show the good news
- A Chartered Engineer reviews and signs every deliverable
